The two main concerns at the forefront of renewable energy systems seem to be, aesthetics and payback time. The aesthetics concern is an issue that people in the United States seem to be more concerned with than any other country in the world using renewable energy to reduce their global warming emissions and overall energy consumption. Some countries require a renewable energy system, like hot water heating, be installed on any project that requires a building permit no matter what it is. These countries understand the total benefits involved in these systems and embrace the results. Not only did these countries reduce emissions and fossil fuel use they also increased their economies by creating more jobs and reducing the amount of money needed for energy production infrastructure. It’s time for people in this country to do the same so we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and reduce global environment changing emissions. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and today’s systems are designed to be more pleasing to the eye. Payback time need not be a concern with renewable energy systems like traditional heating or hot water systems. Because unlike renewable systems, traditional heating and hot water systems will always require the further purchase of energy to make them work. Once a renewable energy system is installed it requires no further purchase of fossil fuels to make it operate. Maintenance costs on most RE systems is very low or none depending on the type of system. We can show you cost analysis sheets used to determine the amount of time it will take to recoup an initial investment in renewable energy. For example: A family of 4 using an electric water heater with only an increase of 10% per year energy cost, will spend over $90,000 on energy over a 40 year period. The last 5 years have shown a 20% increase. Are we truly ready for these types of increases. |
